Mandala doodles

Owlish Mandala

Just play with paint
After years of focused art work, just taking time to doodle and play without an agenda
happens to feel exciting, a novel experience.

I've yearned for this for YEARS, I now realise.
I longed to push paint around, pulling the colour over the paper
Creating a wash and being mesmerised by the results.

Allowing shapes and forms to show themselves;
and allowing my hand to follow their cue
Until an image emerges

I keep adding colour,
I feel for which colour wants to sit alongside the hue already on the page
It's not a thinking process, but following what feels like a fit.

This simple doodle left me feeling
happy and
satisfied.
