This was a bittersweet commission for my cousin.
Bella, the sweet dog on the left, was rescued from the local SPCA. It was clear early on though, that her hips were causing discomfort. To take the pressure off getting up and down, she would sit with her hindquarters resting on Buddy's back, which you can see in the pic above.
Sadly her hip dysplasia was so severe that she was euthanised.
This portrait commemorates her life and sweet spirit and the strong bond that she shared with Buddy.
